A new kind of non-voter is becoming involved in politics: one who cannot vote but is nonetheless active in political campaigns. Both young people and non-citizens are volunteering with presidential campaigns in this election cycle.
   
I reported and co-produced a multimedia master’s thesis on New York City’s female taxi drivers, incorporating video, text, audio, and info graphics. "Women in Transit" tells the story of the women who make up 0.3% of the city's 45,900 licensed drivers.
   

I produced and edited an issue of an online magazine, NYC24.com, covering New York City news.

 

I covered the story of a gay Guyanese immigrant, Dane Solomon, who suffered persecution in his home country and recently gained asylum in the United States.

 

 

 

Capoeira, the Afro-Brazilian martial art, came to the U.S. three decades ago, and non-Brazilians have embraced the art and outnumber Brazilians practicing the sport in New York City.
